As the Manager, Marketing Communications, you will lead the development and execution of integrated marketing strategies that drive engagement, demand generation, and measurable business growth. The individual partners closely with Business Units, Sales, Account Management, and other internal stakeholders to align marketing initiatives with strategic priorities and revenue goals. They oversee content-driven campaigns, events, and programs that generate pipeline and strengthen brand positioning.

The role also manages marketing budgets and provides leadership to a team responsible for campaign execution and content development. Overall, this position serves as a strategic bridge between Marketing and the broader organization, ensuring efforts are data-driven, outcome-focused, and aligned to business impact.

The selected candidate will reside within commuting distance of our Danvers, MA headquarters and will be expected to work in the office 1‑2 days a week.

Compensation range: $95,000 – $110,000

Other compensation:
Performance bonus eligible

What you will be doing:
  • Develop and implement annual strategic marketing plans aligned to business objectives, including content-driven campaigns, events, and market-facing programs.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between Marketing and cross-functional partners (Business Units, Sales, Account Management, Finance, Operations), ensuring alignment on priorities, goals, and outcomes.
  • Provide leadership and direction to team members, responsible for day-to-day content development, campaign execution, and program implementation.
  • Manage, lead, coach, and develop team members to drive performance, engagement, and long‑term retention while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Lead and execute integrated inbound and outbound marketing initiatives that drive engagement, demand generation, and pipeline growth.
  • Lead development of persona‑driven, brand‑aligned content across multiple formats (webinars, events, conferences, podcasts, blog posts, bylined articles, etc.) to increase traffic, engagement, and qualified leads.
  • Present campaign performance data, market insights, and strategic recommendations to internal stakeholders, driving informed decision‑making focused on results over tactics.
  • Manage and track a comprehensive marketing budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources and financial accountability.
Requirements
  • 6–8 years of experience in B2B content marketing, marketing communications, or a related field (STM publishing or academic services/software experience a plus).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated success developing persona‑driven, data‑informed content and campaign strategies that drive measurable business results.
  • Experience building and managing annual marketing plans and budgets, translating business goals into actionable marketing strategies, and partnering effectively with diverse internal stakeholders.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to lead initiatives independently, manage competing priorities, and operate at both strategic and detailed levels.
  • Excellent communication skills, including writing, editing, presentation development (PowerPoint), and public speaking.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with CRM and marketing automation platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Pardot); experience with project management tools (e.g., Asana, Smartsheet, Jira, Basecamp) a plus.
  • Analytical mindset with experience reviewing campaign data, identifying market trends, and optimizing programs based on performance insights and evolving best practices.
