Senior Manager, Data Governance & Policy
Acts as a leading expert who is viewed as a valuable resource by peers, in Data & Analytics organization, the wider Data Community and Abiomed as a whole, who manages large projects or processes of strategic importance to the organization's Data Governance & Policy function. Guides the execution of projects, programs, and processes that span multiple related areas in support of Abiomed's overall Data & Analytics strategy.
Applies comprehensive knowledge of the Data Governance & Policy field to install best-in-class policies, procedures, and plans for the area.
Job Description:
- Acts independently to facilitate programs and innovative initiatives for the organization to advance Data Governance & Policy initiatives.
- Works to achieve operational, functional, and business targets with measurable impact on results for the Data Governance & Policy area.
- Leads the development of tools and integration for master data processes, including data cleansing and data validation.
- Evaluates current and pending initiatives against industry standards.
- Ensures that changes to the organization and business direction that impact the MDM program, data quality policy, data product definitions & contracts, data access & need to know are assessed and acted on, either by a central team or within business units, functional areas or geographies.
- Represents Abiomed on data governance efforts internally and in larger Med Tech organisation by communicating strategy, principles and policies.
- Conducts advanced analyses of trends and the competitive landscape to continually improve the organization's data governance strategy.
- Performs data analysis, data profiling, and data quality measurement across multiple sources to assess the data, identify anomalies, and recommend fixes.
- Designs data quality rules according to the business needs to ensure clean and healthy data.
- Guides the (junior) colleagues and the wider data community through consultation and mentoring in techniques and processes, and provides functional (matrix) supervision.
- Integrates Johnson & Johnson's Credo and Leadership Imperatives into team goals and decision-making.
