From providing timely transportation to supporting daily patient activities, you help create a safe, structured, and supportive environment that promotes healing and recovery. As a Transportation Support Specialist, you’ll provide safe and reliable transportation while also supporting the treatment team in maintaining a secure and therapeutic environment.
Your Role Will Include- Transporting patients and/or staff to and from treatment, medical appointments, urgent care visits, and other approved destinations
- Adhering to strict schedules while ensuring patient safety and comfort
- Performing and documenting daily vehicle inspections to maintain safety standards
- Assisting with patient belongings processing for new admissions and visitations, including search and documentation procedures
- Monitoring patient activities, conducting safety rounds, and completing required documentation (round sheets, incident reports, behavioral observations)
- Managing high-risk or re-engagement situations in collaboration with leadership
- Communicating transportation, vehicle, or safety concerns to program leadership or the administrator on call
- Coordinating with interdisciplinary departments regarding admissions, discharges, and transfers
- Assisting with patient care activities during downtime, including helping with daily schedules, recreational and educational activities, and accompanying patients to examinations or treatments
- Performing additional assigned duties as needed
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required
Licensure: Valid state driver’s license with acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
Experience- Prior experience as a driver or transportation support specialist preferred
- Minimum 6 months of experience in a health and human services-related field preferred
Certifications: CPR certification required (or willingness to obtain)
Note:
To ensure professional boundaries, former RCA patients must wait a minimum of one year post‑treatment at a specific facility before applying for a role at that same location.

StateSpecific Responsibilities
