As a Recovery Support Specialist (RSS) at Recovery Centers of America (RCA), you will be an integral part of the patient care team, providing direct support to individuals in treatment for substance use disorders. Your role is vital in ensuring a safe, structured, and supportive environment where patients can focus on their recovery journey.
WhatYou'll Do
- Monitor patient activities, provides safety checks throughout shift, completes documentation to include but not limited to, rounds sheet, End of Shift reports; records patient behavior.
- Participate in direct patient care including ensuring patient safety, interacting therapeutically. Assists in the activities of patients daily schedule.
- Partner with Clinical staff to conduct a welcoming New Patient Orientation
- Aid and instruct patients in facilitation and presentation of the RCA Clinical Curriculum with corresponding notes in medical records system.
- Understand the principles of 12-Step Programs and how they apply to the recovery process.
- A high school diploma or equivalent required.
- One year of experience in addiction services or behavioral health preferred but not required.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with behavior modification techniques and 12-step recovery principles.
- A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism in all patient interactions.

Schedule:
Monday-Friday, Day Shift. 40 hrs/week
As a Case Manager at Recovery Centers of America (RCA), you’ll draw on your professional experience in case management and substance use disorder treatment to help patients build sustainable paths to recovery. In this role, you’ll develop individualized aftercare plans, coordinate with clinical teams, families, and external providers, and ensure a smooth transition from inpatient treatment to community-based support. Your expertise will be critical in addressing barriers to care and empowering patients to stay engaged in their recovery journey.
WhatYou'll Do
- Develop and coordinate personalized aftercare plans, ensuring patients have access to necessary resources after discharge.
- Assist patients in scheduling follow-up appointments, including primary care, substance use disorder treatment, and mental health services.
- Advocate for patients, addressing barriers such as housing, employment, legal concerns, and social support.
- Work closely with the clinical team to align aftercare plans with treatment goals and ensure a smooth transition to continued care.
- Engage with families and support systems, providing education and resources to reinforce long-term recovery.
- Maintain thorough documentation of discharge planning, referrals, and patient progress.
- High school diploma or GED. A bachelor’s degree in social work or a related field, or equivalent experience in human services, is preferred.
- Professional experience in both case management and substance use disorder treatment, with at least one year in a behavioral health, addiction treatment, or psychiatric setting.
- Knowledge of community resources and recovery support services, including outpatient providers, housing, employment, and legal aid.
- Strong problem-solving skills to assess and address patient needs, barriers, and care coordination challenges.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary providers.
