Insurance Verification and Authorization SpecialistDivision: Early Intervention
Reports to: Division Director
Pay: $29/hour
Location: Liberty Tree Mall
Schedule: Mon-Fri, 8am-4pm
Strong insurance processes are essential to ensuring families receive uninterrupted Early Intervention services. We’re looking for an Insurance Verification and Authorization Specialist who is detail-oriented, proactive, and skilled at navigating payer requirements with accuracy and confidence.
In this role, you will manage all aspects of insurance verification and coordination for clients enrolled in Early Intervention. You’ll ensure timely and accurate collection, verification, and maintenance of insurance information to support smooth service delivery and billing compliance. You will work closely with administrative staff, service coordinators, and program leadership to troubleshoot insurance challenges, resolve discrepancies, and maintain full payer readiness.
Your precision, communication skills, and problem-solving mindset will help ensure that each family receives uninterrupted, high-quality support.
- Verify insurance eligibility for all Early Intervention clients at time of referral and perform regular, ongoing eligibility checks for all active clients
- Obtain updated insurance information from families
- Troubleshoot insurance-related issues, including coverage denials, coordination of benefits, and missing information. Navigate insurance portals and online tools, resolves billing discrepancies, and provides documentation and updates as needed.
- Act as a point of contact for clients explaining insurance coverage, answering benefit questions, and providing clear information regarding out-of-pocket expenses.
- Adheres to HIPAA regulations to maintain client confidentiality and protect sensitive healthcare information.
- Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent
- Associate's or Bachelor's preferred
- 2 years experience in insurance verification, healthcare administration, or early intervention services
- Strong understanding of insurance processes, including Medicaid, commercial insurance and managed health care plans
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and electronic health records (EHR)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
