Job description

Fulfills programmatic responsibilities by providing quality living support for disabled individuals. Teachers, supports, and facilitates choices for individuals residing in NeArc residential homes and within their communities. Assists with the day-to-day operation of the residence.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrate knowledge of and implement Northeast Arc Policy and Procedures, including the Code of Conduct, Residential Division Standards and Funding Source Regulations.
  • Provide hands‑on support at the home, including individualized supports in transferring, bathing and grooming, and following specific dining protocols and treatments.
  • Provide individuals with opportunities for growth, including learning new skills and increasing independence, whenever possible.
  • Complete ISP documentation, incident reporting and other necessary documentation in accordance with Northeast Policies and Procedures and funding Regulations.
  • Provide assistance in scheduling staff and appointments; assist in payroll as assigned.
Qualifications
  • BS/BA preferred, HS Diploma/GED and two years Human Service Experience supporting adults with a developmental disability or within human services.
  • Maintain certifications as required in Northeast Arc Policy and Procedures, including but not exclusive to:
    First Aid, CPR, MAPs, Vehicle Safety, UP, Human Rights Officer and Formal Fire Safety Trained.
  • Maintain a valid Massachusetts driver’s license.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds, stand for periods of time, bend, push wheelchairs, provide physical intervention as necessary and be able to lift and/or transfer individuals.
  • Works in the community in a home setting with either multiple residents or someone who lives independently.
