Job Description

Our client a well-established CPA firm in Danvers, MA is seeking a few detail-oriented Temporary Tax Preparers to support the firm during the busy tax season, which will be starting up in a few weeks. This role is ideal for an experienced tax professional who can efficiently prepare individual and small business tax returns while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and excellent client service.

They are open to bringing on both part time and full time individuals from February through April. This would be an in-office position based out of their Danvers, MA location.

• Prepare and review federal and state tax returns for individuals and small businesses
• Organize, analyze, and input financial data and tax documents
• Ensure compliance with current tax laws and regulations
• Identify potential tax savings opportunities and deductions
• Communicate with clients to gather missing information and clarify documentation
• Assist with amended returns, extensions, and related filings as needed
• Maintain accurate and confidential client records
• Collaborate with CPAs and firm staff to meet deadlines during peak season

• Prior experience preparing individual tax returns required
• Experience with small business, partnership, or corporate returns preferred
• Familiarity with tax software (e.g., Pro System fx, Ultra Tax, Drake, Lacerte or similar)
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple returns and meet tight deadlines
• Knowledge of federal and Massachusetts state tax regulations
• Excellent communication and professionalism when working with clients

• Enrolled Agent or CPA professionals preferred (may have more flexibility on hourly rate with this background)
• Relevant tax certification a plus
• 2+ years of tax preparation experience preferred
