An exciting role as a Logistics Manager at our Production facility located in Danbury, Connecticut.

In this role you will be responsible for overseeing all inbound and outbound logistics activities within a chemical manufacturing facility, including the Receiving and Shipping departments. This role ensures efficient, safe, and compliant movement of raw materials and finished goods while maintaining full compliance with import/export regulations and chemical handling requirements. The Logistics Manager plays a critical role in achieving 100% customer satisfaction through on-time, accurate, and damage-free shipments, and works closely with Import/Export Compliance, Purchasing, Operations, and Production teams.

This position covers a range of activities including:

  • Manage and supervise Receiving and Shipping teams and daily warehouse operations
  • Oversee inbound receipt of raw materials, intermediates, packaging, and supplies
  • Manage outbound shipment of finished goods to domestic and international customers
  • Ensure proper documentation, labeling, packaging, and handling of chemical materials
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable import/export regulations, trade controls, and customs requirements
  • Work closely with the Import/Export Compliance function to maintain accurate and complete shipping documentation
  • Support audits, inspections, and regulatory reviews related to trade complianc
  • Ensure proper classification, country of origin, and recordkeeping
  • Develop and implement best practices to streamline material movement within the facility
  • Optimize dock scheduling, material staging, and internal transfers to support production
  • Identify inefficiencies and implement continuous improvement initiatives
  • Improve inventory flow and reduce delays, errors, and transportation costs
  • Ensure on-time, complete, and accurate shipments to meet customer delivery commitments
  • Act as escalation point for shipment delays, discrepancies, or transportation issues
  • Collaborate with Customer Service, Sales, and Planning teams to align shipping priorities
  • Monitor logistics performance metrics and drive service-level improvements
  • Partner closely with Purchasing to coordinate inbound deliveries and supplier shipments
  • Work with Operations and Production to align material availability with manufacturing schedules
  • Coordinate with Quality and Safety teams to ensure compliance with chemical handling and storage requirements
  • Collaborate with Finance on freight costs, claims, and inventory accuracy
  • Ensure compliance with EHS, DOT, IATA, IMDG, and other applicable chemical transportation regulations
  • Promote a culture of safety, accuracy, and accountability within logistics operations
  • Ensure proper training of logistics personnel on hazardous materials handling and shipping
  • 5+ years of logistics or warehouse management experience in a chemical or regulated manufacturing environment
  • Experience managing receiving and shipping operations
  • Hands‑on experience with import/export compliance and international shipping
  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field

  • Able to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • High integrity and commitment to safety and compliance
  • Comply with all BRI environmental, and safety policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance, on a daily basis, with Federal food safety regulations/laws, all related BRI policies and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s)
    · Strong understanding of chemical logistics, hazardous materials handling, and transportation regulations
  • Proven leadership and team management skills
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication abilities
  • Experience with ERP/WMS systems and shipping software
