Position Overview:

The CNC Machinist is responsible for machining precision optics using a variety of CNC machinery while following standard work instructions. As part of the Optical Manufacturing team, this role will play an integral part of the production lifecycle and have exposure to various optical manufacturing assignments. Responsibilities:
* Manufacture high precision optics on CNC manufacturing equipment in accordance with manufacturing documentation, process documentation and technical requirements, including blocking and unblocking optical materials

* Ensure program check and verification methods are established for the work center

* Interpret technical drawings and work instructions

* Troubleshoot machine anomalies with the ability to Identify problems and escalate

Required Qualifications:

* High School Diploma or Equivalent

* 5+ years relevant experience

* Strong math aptitude

* Knowledge of Fagor, Fanuc, Siemens, HEIDENHAIN, or similar CNC control systems is a plus

* Familiarity with hand tools, manual measurement tools, computer-controlled test equipment, windows Explorer, Excel, and Word

* Previous experience with Mastercam or Vericut is a plus

* Analytical and problem-solving skills

* Ability to speak up as appropriate while identifying and escalating issues as required

* Must be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI U.S. Government Security Clearance
