SummaryThe Materials Distribution Manager is responsible for developing, managing and leading 24/7 operational requirements for identified Hospital locations and its offsite locations in the area of inventory, distribution and courier services. Responsibilities include inventory management for all clinical and support departments and expansion into the highly specialized clinical areas. Areas of focus include financial management of inventory, process efficiency and clinical collaboration in support of patient care needs.
Responsibilities- Develops, plans, manages and leads day to day operations of Materials Distribution function. Monitors and manages the inventory, inventory control and materials (movement) distribution process at hospitals, offsite facilities.
- Oversees highly specialized and demanding inventory locations including the Operating Room and Emergency Department to meet financial goals, patient care and departmental needs.
- Responsible for labor management, budget preparation and management, compliance, cost controls, efficiency improvements in a patient centric, customer focused environment.
- Manages the process of inventory control ensuring compliance to the Materials Management Information System requirements, good business practice, policy & procedures, standards within the supply chain, throughout the use of system tools, reports and data management.
- Develops, tracks and reports out benchmarking standards and monitoring tools to demonstrate state of operations, improvement opportunities and trending.
- Engenders an environment of collaboration with customer departments, empowered employees and teams, actively supporting cross-functional work efforts and training to optimize labor, process improvement, relationship building for the greater good of the network.
- Achieves the organization’s established expectations regarding quality service and team work in support of customers and their service needs.
- Picks up and delivers supplies, equipment, materials, mail, business and finance materials, banking requirements, specimens and other related items in accordance with a required schedule, work assignment methodology or assignment of responsibilities through management.
- Ensures through actions or by communication to management the proper working order and responsibility for safe and compliant operation of hospital vehicles including but not limited to repairs, maintenance, cleanliness, tire replacement, registration, emissions, insurance, other related activities, etc.
- Performs vehicle inspections to ensure safety.
- Documents activities in accordance with management requirements.
- Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required
:
Management experience in a healthcare Supply Chain environment, demonstrates the ability to manage teams, leadership skills, develop plan and implement project plans, support and manage technology implementation, ability to use Microsoft Office Suite to document plans, activities, projects. Strong communication, organizational, planning and monitoring of accountability skills.
Minimum Experience:
three years.
Valid CT or NY Driver’s License (with clean driving record).
Desired
:
Experience with Lean, Six Sigma or similar type tools. Experienced management with proven ability to manage multifocal operations area. Supply Chain specialty experience preferred.
