This position reports to:
Operations Manager. The work model for the role is onsite, and this role is contributing to the Force Measurement Division in Danbury, CT.

Responsibilities
  • Under supervision, perform a variety of semi-technical assignments such as assembly, operation and shop maintenance, laboratory equipment, instrumentation and controls, shipping and receiving; coordinate work with other ABB employees to ensure customer commitments.
  • Performing semi-technical work on development and production projects, integrating requirements with own understanding of the complete project. Construct component models, as requested.
  • Electrical panel and cabinet construction for custom measurement systems.
  • Conducting tests or experiments requiring selection and adaptation or modification of equipment and products; record data, perform basic analyses to check reasonableness, prepare test reports and maintain records.
  • Troubleshooting equipment and applying own knowledge and experience towards the solution of any problems, such as types of repairs or modifications required.
  • Managing the inventory and performing monthly cycle counts.
  • May work nonstandard schedules and/or at off-sites locations with exposure to varying environmental conditions.
Qualifications
  • HS Diploma required.
  • Two or more years of electrical/mechanical experience required.
  • Good understanding of electrical schematics and ability to read mechanical drawings.
  • Ability to use shop tools such as screwdrivers, wrenches, hammers, drill press, soldering iron, hydraulic press, cleaning solvents, forklift and overhead crane operation.
  • Ability to do prototype electrical wiring with good soldering capabilities.
  • Computer proficiency and knowledge of PowerPoint, Word, Excel, SAP for inventory management.
  • Good verbal and written ability necessary for internal communication.
  • Good organizational skills with multi-tasking ability.

Salary

While base salary is determined by your qualifications and experience, this position is expected to pay between $45,500 and $72,800 annually.
