Patient Transport Driver shift

Overview

Administers non‑emergent out‑of‑hospital care (such as moving, lifting, positioning) and transportation services to sick or injured persons.

• Provide high-quality medical transportation to wheelchair and livery patients.
• Safely fulfill all transport responsibilities associated with patient conveyance.
• Document relevant activities pertaining to conveyance of patients.
• Maintain equipment for constant readiness.
• Operate vehicles safely while performing all matters related to patient conveyance.
• May participate in orientation and training of new employees.
• Recommend changes to lead staff to ensure smooth operation of transportation system.
• Maintain cleanliness of vehicles.
• Maintain crew quarters.
• Fulfill all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• High School Diploma/GED.
• Valid CT Driver’s License.
• American Heart Association, BLS, CPR or equivalent.
• Completion of Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (EVOC) or equivalent within 6 months of hire.
• May be required to obtain a public passenger license.
• AHA, ARC, or NSC, BLS, CPR, (or CPR‑Instructor) certificate that has not expired.

• Manual: significant manual skills/motor coordination & finger dexterity.

  Very heavy effort. May exert up to 50 lbs. force.
