Team Leader-Diagnostic Radiology

Summary

The Team Leader assists in the daily department operation for a specified area such as Outpatient Radiology. Assumes responsibility of the area in the absence of the supervisor. Performs the functions of a Radiology Technologist.

• Assists the supervisor in the daily operation of the Radiology Department for a specified area.
• Administers to the department and patient needs in the absence of the supervisor. Provides mentoring and guidance to staff.
• Performs the functions of a Radiology Technologist.
• Provides training and cross training of staff.
• Prepares schedules, orders supplies and implements changes.
• Participates in the department's performance improvement program and initiatives.
• Ensures a safe environment for all staff and patients.
• May provide clinical instruction to prospective radiographers to instill the duties of a radiologic technologist in a health care facility while maintaining excellent patient care.
• May evaluate a students' ability to perform procedures, and assures student attains objectives of each competency. May perform periodic written evaluation of students.
• Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

HS GRAD/EQUIVALENT

• Required:
  
  State of CT Radiographer license. Maintains current knowledge of professional discipline & educational methodologies through continuing professional development.
• Minimum Experience:
  
  three years
• Desired:

Manual: significant manual skills/motor coord & finger dexterity

Occupational:
Significant occupational risk

Physical Effort:
Very Heavy effort. May exert up to 50 lbs. force

Physical Environment:
Some exposure to dirt, odors, noise, human waste, etc.
