Per Diem Medical Practice Patient Representative (Clerical Assistant) - NHMP Float Team Region C (Norwalk)

Title: Medical Practice Patient Representative (Clerical Assistant) – Float Differential $ Included – 8‑hour shifts between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm.

Summary: Provides clerical and administrative support and coordinates the patient care activities for a physician practice.

Job Details: Exciting opportunity to gain experience in Primary Care, Surgical, and Specialty medicine.

  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Float Pool employees provide coverage to medical offices that need staffing; great way to network, develop skills, and work in various medical departments.
  • Region C:
    Covers medical offices/departments in Wilton, Norwalk, New Canaan, Darien & Westport.
Responsibilities
  • Ensures accuracy of patient information, including demographics and insurance.
  • Performs reception of customers and communicates pleasantly and effectively.
  • Answers phones, routes calls, takes messages, conveys information, and ensures accurate communication.
  • Registers, verifies, and schedules patient appointments, testing, and referrals.
  • Reschedules cancelled, no‑show, or tickler appointments.
  • Processes record requests, including copying, billing, charging, and recording.
  • Collects co‑pays and reconciles funds for deposit.
  • Obtains and coordinates record retrieval for new and established patients.
  • Completes audits as assigned.
  • Performs intake and processing of medical records and other documentation via eFax.
  • Presents a professional appearance and image.
  • Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
  • Maintains and models Nuvance Health Values.
  • Demonstrates regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.
  • Performs other duties as required.
Education and Experience

Education Required: High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.

  • 1 year customer‑related experience required.
  • Preferred: 1+ years of healthcare experience.

PRN Rate: $25.58
