Position: Medical Practice Patient Representative (Clerical Office Assistant) - NHMP Danbury Psychiatry

$500 Sign On Bonus (External Hires Only)

Title: Medical Practice Patient Representative (Clerical Office Assistant) - NHMP Danbury Psychiatry - 152 West Street, Danbury, CT. Full Time, 40 hours per week, 8 hour shifts between 8:30am - 5:00pm, Monday - Friday.

Summary: Provides clerical and administrative support and coordinates the patient care activities for physician practice.

Responsibilities
  • Ensures accuracy of patient's information, including demographics and insurance.
  • Performs reception of customers and communicates pleasantly and effectively.
  • Answers phones, routes calls, take messages, conveys information, and assures accurate communication.
  • Registers, verifies and schedules patient appointments, testing, and referrals.
  • Reschedules cancelled, no show, tickler appointments.
  • Processes record requests, including the copying, billing, charging and recording.
  • Collects co-pays and reconciles moneys for deposit.
  • Obtains and coordinates record retrieval for new and established patients.
  • Completes audits as assigned.
  • Performs intake and processing of medical records and other documentation and correspondence via eFax.
  • Presents a professional appearance and image.
  • Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Required

High School diploma/GED. New or experienced graduate of Medical Assistant program, or Nursing Assistant training program, or EMT certification, or 3 years job related experience in a medical office. Basic medical knowledge and terminology. Skilled in obtaining accurate patient vital signs.

Desired

CPR certification preferred. Bi-lingual preferred.

Pay Rate: $17.72 - $33.48 (Pay per years of relative experience)
