The Stylist engages with guests, consults on their hair care needs, recommends products and services, and delivers high‑quality professional services emphasizing the guest’s total look. The Stylist supports the Experience Manager (EM) and Assistant Services Manager (ASM) in performance, guest service, and process compliance.

• Perform hair services including hair design, haircuts, color, texture, treatments, styling, updos, perms, blowouts, keratin treatments, extensions, makeup applications, and ear piercing (where applicable).
• Meet or exceed an $800 average weekly sales goal and productivity goals for hair services, contributing to overall store sales, guest loyalty, and retail shrink targets.
• Demonstrate business acumen by understanding drivers and identifying growth opportunities.
• Perform product demonstrations to drive sales and enhance guest experience.
• Support in‑store events, promotions, and marketing initiatives that deliver an unrivaled guest experience.
• Stay informed on industry trends, new products and services, and the benefits of these offerings to better serve guests.
• Maintain prompt, regular attendance.

• Develop guest relationships through consultations and appropriate retail and service recommendations.
• Demonstrate high standards of customer service and salon image.
• Serve all guests promptly, including walk‑ins.
• Partner with skin therapists and the retail team to provide a total‑store and well‑rounded guest experience.
• Build professional peer and brand partner relationships that foster collaborative service excellence.
• Share benefits of the guest loyalty program, including credit and the Ulta Beauty app.
• Attend mandatory trainings and meetings to enable continuous professional development.

• Be knowledgeable of and ensure compliance with Ulta Beauty policies, procedures, and standards.
• Follow safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures and state board guidelines.
• Follow established service protocols to ensure a consistent and exceptional guest experience.
• Use booking and clientele systems to schedule return services and events.
• Communicate supply needs to the EM to maintain guest readiness.
• Maintain outstanding store operational standards across all areas.
• Adhere to the Ulta Beauty dress code.
• Follow loss prevention best practices while providing excellent guest service.
• Execute other operational tasks as directed.

• Cosmetology license.

• Previous relevant salon experience is preferred.

• Proficiency with latest salon techniques for haircutting, hair color, lightening, styling, texture, treatment, extensions, makeup, and ear piercing services.
• Proficiency with equipment and chemicals required for technical work.
• Ability to demonstrate, recommend, and sell professional hair care and makeup products.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships and clientele.

• Work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

• Frequent mobility during shift.
• Continuous lifting and/or moving up to 10 lbs. during shift.
• Frequent stooping, kneeling, bending, reaching, twisting, and crouching during shift.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time during shift.
• Continuous and/or frequent coordination and manipulation of objects during shift.
