Summary – Now Hiring:
Experienced Childcare Center Director
Little People Learning Center – Danbury, CT is seeking an experienced, hands-on Childcare Center Director to lead daily operations, support staff, partner with families, and ensure the center operates at full enrollment capacity while maintaining high-quality standards.
Position: Childcare Center Director
Location: Danbury, CT
Schedule: Full-Time (40 hours per week)
Pay Rate: Very competitive salary (Based on experience, education, and qualifications)
Responsibilities- Oversee daily center operations and ensure compliance with OEC regulations
- Lead and support staff to meet licensing, Early Start, and NAEYC standards
- Monitor enrollment, manage waitlists, and support family retention
- Build positive, professional relationships with families
- Ensure classrooms are fully staffed and in ratio at all times
- Maintain organized staff and child files
- Prepare for licensing visits, monitoring reviews, and accreditation requirements
- Partner with ownership on operational goals and center performance
- Demonstrated experience as a Childcare Director or Assistant Director
- Strong knowledge of National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) standards
- Experience with Early Start CT or similar state-funded programs
- Thorough understanding of Connecticut Office of Early Childhood (OEC) licensing regulations
- Proven ability to maintain and grow enrollment and keep the center at or near capacity
- Strong parent communication, customer service, and conflict-resolution skills
- Ability to lead, supervise, and support teaching staff
- Experience with staffing, ratios, scheduling, and compliance documentation
- CPR & MED CERT. or willing to obtain within 90 days of hire
