Estrella Veterinary Hospital offers primary care, emergency, and urgent care for dogs and cats in Capistrano Beach, San Clemente, Dana Point, San Juan Capistrano, Laguna Niguel, and Aliso Viejo. Provide your best care with more bridges and fewer barriers. Estrella Veterinary Hospital is looking for a Veterinary Assistant to join Thrive Pet Healthcare.

As a Veterinary Assistant, you’ll play an important role in pets’ lives by providing end-to-end care for our patients. Your work includes hands-on care for outpatient treatments and laboratory tests, plus support services including admitting and discharging patients.

Role Responsibilities
  • Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients.
  • Assist with hospital functions to maximize productivity and maintain positive patient flow.
  • Assist with surgeries and procedures in accordance with the state's Veterinary Practice Act.
  • Communicate with clients about individualized pet health concerns and offer guidance on Thrive Membership options, medications, and additional treatments.
  • Maintain relevant, comprehensive medical records with the support of practice systems.
  • Obtain relevant health history and information from clients and maintain medical charts.
  • Use safe restraining techniques, follow standard protocols, and sustain clean, sterile, organized treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs.
  • Be willing to guide, mentor, and support fellow team members.

  • 2+ years veterinary experience

Compensation negotiable based on credentials and experience with an hourly pay rate starting at $20 - $24 per hour. The actual rate offered will consider skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
