The award‑winning Forbes 4‑Star and AAA 5‑Diamond Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach Resort & Club is looking for a Restaurant General Manager to join the Food & Beverage team!
Located in the beautiful coastal town of Dana Point adjacent to Laguna Beach, this town played an iconic role in the emergence of California's surf culture and today is celebrated for its laid‑back vibe and fun, active lifestyle.
The resort is perched on 175 acres atop a 150‑foot seaside bluff with over 400 rooms, 115,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space, and eight food and beverage outlets, including four restaurants, a beach club, lounge, marketplace, and in‑room dining.

ResponsibilitiesIn this role, you will be overseeing the day‑to‑day operations of Aveo Table + Bar, reporting directly to the Director of Food & Beverage, and managing three Assistant Managers and 30–35 front‑of‑house team members.
- Plan and direct all aspects of restaurant operations, including guest service standards, product quality, cost controls, profitability, marketing initiatives, systems use, budgeting, forecasting, department management, policy enforcement, and meeting facilitation.
- Monitor and develop team member performance through supervision, professional development, counseling, evaluations, and recognition.
- Create and maintain a customer database and partner with Sales & Marketing/Public Relations on marketing strategy.
- Maximize efficiency of technology systems such as Open Table.
- Monitor and assess service and satisfaction trends, evaluate issues, and implement improvements.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol awareness standards.
- Initiate and implement up‑selling techniques to promote restaurant food, beverage, and services, maximizing overall revenue and cross‑selling hotel‑wide.
- Recruit, interview, and train team members.
The ideal candidate must be an exceptional leader with a passion for creating extraordinary experiences, talent for training and developing others, and experience in all aspects of restaurant operations (financial performance, social media reputation, local market capture, employee relations). At least 2–3 years of restaurant management experience in an upscale dining environment is required.

Shift: Various – must be available weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
Pay Rate:
The annual salary range for this role is $95,000 - $115,000.
