Job Summary

The Storekeeper is responsible for the efficient and organized management of all incoming and outgoing materials, maintaining accurate inventory records, and ensuring the smooth operation of the company's storage facilities.

Job Responsibilities
  • Receive, inspect, unpack, and store incoming materials, supplies, and equipment, verifying against purchase orders and delivery notes.
  • Issue materials and tools to authorized personnel based on requisitions and maintain detailed records of all disbursements.
  • Conduct regular physical inventory counts and reconcile with system records, identifying and investigating discrepancies.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe storage area, ensuring proper labeling and storage conditions for all items.
  • Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently (if certified).
  • Monitor stock levels and report shortages or excesses to procurement/management in a timely manner.
  • Assist in the preparation of materials for shipment, ensuring proper packaging and documentation.
  • Implement and adhere to all company safety procedures and policies within the store.
  • Perform routine checks on stored items for damage, expiry, or deterioration.
  • Assist in loading and unloading trucks and other vehicles.
Job Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience as a Storekeeper, Warehouse Assistant, or similar role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting heavy objects and standing for extended periods.
  • Familiarity with inventory management principles and practices.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including experience with inventory management software or systems (e.g., ERP, WMS) is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid forklift operator certification (if applicable) is an advantage.
