We are seeking a highly skilled Heavy-Duty Vehicle Technician specialising in transmission and drivetrain repair, overhaul, and diagnostics
, with deep technical expertise in Allison automatic transmissions
. The role involves performing advanced mechanical, hydraulic, and electronic diagnostics on heavy-duty vehicles, ensuring all repair and overhaul work meets OEM standards and operational readiness requirements.
- Diagnose, repair, rebuild, and overhaul heavy-duty Allison automatic transmissions (e.g., 1000/2000/3000/4000 series).
- Conduct complete teardown and assembly of transmission units, following OEM technical manuals and service bulletins.
- Perform repairs and maintenance on drive chains, transfer cases, axles, differentials, and powertrain components
. - Troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults affecting driveline systems.
- Use advanced diagnostic tools (e.g.,
Allison DOC , OEM software, electronic scanners
) to identify faults in transmission control modules (TCM), valve bodies, torque converters, and hydraulic circuits. - Conduct road tests and operational checks to validate performance after repairs or overhaul.
- Interpret diagnostic data, fault codes, and technical reports to determine required corrective actions.
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on transmissions and drivetrain systems to reduce downtime.
- Inspect, adjust, and calibrate mechanical and electronic components as required.
- Ensure all repair work complies with manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
- Prepare accurate service records, inspection reports, and parts usage documentation.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of OEM service procedures, new technical releases, and updated repair practices.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior technicians as required.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols, workshop standards, and environmental regulations.
- Use specialised tools, lifting equipment, and workshop machinery in a safe and controlled manner.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of work areas.
Diploma or Technical Certification in Automotive Technology, Heavy Equipment Mechanics, or related field

Proven hands-on experience in diagnosing and repairing Allison transmissions
.
Strong understanding of hydraulic systems, electronic controls, and mechanical systems.
Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, service manuals, and electrical schematics.
