Responsibilities- Delivering Naval Specialty Training curriculum and, in particular, Engineman specific elements.
- Supporting invigilation activities for assessments.
- Supporting remedial training activities.
- Writing assessment materials.
- Supporting the continuous improvement of courseware materials and media.
- Writing trainee reports as required to meet customer requirements.
- Operating to a standard of absolute integrity and professionalism.
- Ensuring the completion of any other reasonable request by the NST Training Management, which aligns with Company business.
- Adhering to both the BAES SDT and the BAESSA SHE policies, including reporting via the OSHENS system of near misses and accidents.
- Attending the First Aid Awards Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid At Work course.
- Attending a SHE briefing detailing the SHE procedures in effect at the BAES SDT HQ.
- Acting in a safe manner and challenging unsafe behaviours and conditions.
- Ensuring, as far as reasonably practicable, that SHE risks are identified and managed.
- Motivating students to excel in the learning environment using a variety of instructional techniques.
- Building good rapport and creating effective relationships with key stakeholders to ensure all activities carried out add value to the business and its customers.
- Using a range of problem solving approaches.
- Maintaining documentary records of work carried out and evaluation reports.
- Graduates of advanced military trade schools, industrial equivalents or relevant educational establishments.
- Successfully completed an accredited Instructional Techniques course, plus either;
- A valid IELTS certificate (gained in the last two (2) years) showing an average band score of 5.0 with no pillar less than 4.0.
- A CEFR level of B1. If demonstrated through the British Council Aptis, it shall be valid for one (1) year only with no pillar less than B1, and Speaking and Listening pillars must achieve a minimum of B2.
- All new SN Specialty Instructors will be required to provide an in date IELTS certificate at a minimum overall score of IELTS 5.0 with speaking and listening band scores at 5.0 when recruited.
- Have five (5) years practical experience in their specialty.
- Have at least two (2) years recent instructional experience (within the last six (6) years).
- Hold a minimum of City & Guilds 2850-52 qualification.
