We are seeking a hardworking, reliable, and safety-conscious Labor Crew Worker and Driver to join our field crew specializing in underground sewer line replacement and repairs. This role is physically demanding and primarily field-based, requiring hands-on work in a dynamic and team-oriented environment. The ideal candidate will be skilled in construction labor, traffic control, and operating heavy-duty vehicles, with the appropriate licensing to drive a dump truck in California.
Responsibilities- Field Operations (80% of time):
Assist with sewer line replacement and repair tasks, including digging trenches, breaking and removing concrete, back filling, and compacting materials. - Set up and manage traffic control according to safety regulations and project needs.
- Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently under the direction of the crew lead.
- Support the crew in preparing for and passing municipal inspections.
- Perform job site cleanup and debris removal to maintain a safe and organized work environment.
- Follow all job site safety protocols and company standards.
- Driving & Support Tasks (20% of time):
Drive dump trucks and other crew vehicles to transport materials, tools, and equipment to and from job sites. - Pick up supplies from vendors or warehouses as directed.
- Assist with delivery coordination and ensure timely arrival of materials to prevent project delays.
- Provide excellent service and maintain professional conduct when interacting with clients, inspectors, and the public.
Required:
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for operating dump trucks in California.
- Clean driving record and ability to pass a DOT physical and drug test.
- At least 1 year of experience in underground utility work, construction labor, or a related field.
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Knowledge of basic construction tools and equipment.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings or overtime as needed.
- Preferred: Experience operating compactors, jackhammers, and other heavy-duty tools.
- Familiarity with Cal/OSHA safety standards and utility work best practices.

- Stand/Sit:
Must be able to remain in stationary position 50% of the time - May be required to bend, climb (Stairs/Ladders), do repetitive motion, kneel, reach, squat, stand, crawl, walk, and run
- May be required to drive and sit for long periods of time
- May be required to maneuver up to 25 lb. by lifting, carrying or pushing
The starting rate for this opportunity ranges from $25-$35/hr the actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and market demands. Other rewards may include incentive plan opportunities and annual bonus eligibility.
