Responsibilities- Primary Objective:
In broad terms, state the major purpose of the position. - Oversee the operation of the coater in SPC.
- Operate safely and participate in plant safety processes.
- Enter data into SAP.
- Inspect quality of processed material, noting size and dimension accuracies for a quality final product.
- Verify the correct setup and function of the machine.
- Maintain a clean and efficient work area.
- Monitor operational data such as temperatures, pressures, ingredients used, processing times, or test results.
- Inspect equipment or units to detect leaks, malfunctions, and monitor operating conditions; shut down equipment if necessary.
- Adjust controls to regulate temperature, pressure, feed and flow of liquids and gases, and times of prescribed reactions according to knowledge of equipment and processes.
- Monitor gauges, recording instruments, flow meters, or products to ensure that specified conditions are maintained.
- Perform physical line walks to monitor/inspect for product quality, equipment reliability, and general housekeeping.
- Assist with conducting trials in production processes and with troubleshooting quality issues.
- Assist with line changeovers and seam splicing preventive care for optimized performance.
- Troubleshoot and/or modify equipment systems-related failures based on supervisor and/or engineering direction.
- Follow setup and run procedures, safety and quality procedures as documented.
- Must be willing and able to stand for long periods of time and work flexible hours.
- Perform preventative maintenance and cleaning; complete all documentation accurately.
- Follow the quality management system policy and procedures; communicate production or quality issues to appropriate team members.
- Inspect and sort out quality product when needed.
- Operate lift truck, overhead crane, and hoist.
- Participate in job rotation and relief of other team members as needed.
- Knowledge, experience, and certifications: describe education, knowledge required, years of experience, and specific skills and abilities to perform the job competently.

- Physical demands:
The employee must stand for long periods, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, talk, and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Vision requirements include color vision, close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. - Work environment:
Exposure to weather conditions and potential high noise and dust levels.
