Job Summary

This position is responsible for directing plant operations for Dalton State College. Ensures campus physical plant and grounds reflects excellence in operations through proactive management of emerging issues, ongoing quality control efforts, and long‑range strategic planning to ensure quality improvement.

Responsibilities Performs management and supervisory duties - 45%
  • Hires, trains, assigns, directs, supervises, evaluates and disciplines personnel.
  • Develops and manages budgets; control expenditures.
  • Renders decisions on operational and personnel matters in accordance with state and Board of Regents policies.
  • Develops and implements maintenance schedules.
  • Directs and coordinates daily, weekly, and monthly staff schedules.
Directs maintenance and construction activities - 45%
  • Provides oversight and direction for capital projects; develops task lists and ensures projects are on schedule, within costs, and provide quality outcomes.
  • Manages the work of contractors.
  • Manages grounds maintenance and landscaping operations.
  • Manages the custodial maintenance of campus buildings.
  • Manages college utility services.
  • Manages the maintenance and repair of HVAC systems.
  • Manages the maintenance of the college's vehicle fleet.
Performs a variety of related duties - 10%
  • Completes a variety of regular and special reports.
  • Directs the management of an inventory of tools, parts, and supplies.
Required Qualifications Educational Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a course of study related to the occupational field, or equivalent education and work experience.

More than five years of related experience required.

Required Qualifications

Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
