Primary ObjectiveResponsible for creating, modifying, and maintaining accurate mechanical drawings and 3D models using CAD software to support engineering, fabrication, and production processes.
Major Function and Scope- Develop and revise detailed mechanical drawings and 3D models using AutoCAD and Solid Works.
- Translate field measurements into accurate technical drawings.
- Export and prepare files for CNC programming in Mastercam.
- Perform on-site measurements using precision tools (calipers, micrometers, tape measures, etc.).
- Maintain drawing documentation and revision control.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure designs meet manufacturing requirements.
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Associate Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Drafting & Design, or related field — or equivalent experience.
- 1–3 years of CAD drafting or mechanical design experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Solid Works (required).
- Experience with Mastercam or similar CAM software preferred.
- Experience taking field measurements and using precision measuring tools.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Operate in a team-based environment
- Read and understand technical documents and instructions such as blueprints, electrical schematics, mechanical and machine drawings for installations, troubleshooting and repair
- Keep simple records and make reports
- Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where limited standardization exists
- May require bending, squatting, climbing, and other physical movement for long periods of time
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds frequently
- Working around moving equipment and in an industrial environment
- Working in an environment where there may be regular exposure to chemicals, noise from machinery, dust, fumes, and variable temperatures
