Job SummaryDalton State College School of Health Professions seeks a full-time, tenure track, Assistant Professor of Social Work.
Responsibilities- Teach undergraduate social work courses, primarily micro-practice courses. Teaching load is a minimum of 4/3 loads (9-16 credit hours per semester). Courses are taught on-campus; this is not an online teaching position. Assess student competency for SACS and CSWE. (85%)
- Advise BSW students. Participate in faculty committees, college and school service, and other professional activities as needed. (15%)
Required
- Master's degree in social work from a CSWE-accredited program.
- Five years post-MSW practice experience as a generalist social worker, primarily micro-level.
- LMSW licensure in good standing in Georgia or Tennessee (licensure in other states may be acceptable; Georgia licensure expected after hiring).
- Ability to teach and uphold NASW ethical standards and CSWE Professional Competencies.
Preferred
- DSW or PhD in social work.
- College classroom teaching experience in a generalist social work program and familiarity with CSWE accreditation standards.
- LCSW licensure in Georgia or Tennessee or licensure eligible in the immediate future.
- Bilingual English/Spanish.
The Dalton State Social Work program is fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. This position should be a clinician able to teach across the BSW curriculum and specifically generalist micro practice courses. This program is on campus, and this position is not an online teaching role.

- Commitment to NASW ethics and CSWE competencies.
- Ability to teach CSWE social work competencies and empower DSC students.
