Job SummaryWork as a member of a team to collect data on stream conditions in the Bull Creek watershed of Columbus, GA. Work will be conducted outside in local streams that must be accessed by traversing steep embankments. Lab work will involve sorting through samples and identifying macroinvertebrates as part of a team of researchers.
ResponsibilitiesDuties and responsibilities include participating in field work to characterize stream conditions and riparian area, collect macroinvertebrate samples, sorting samples, and identifying macroinvertebrates using keys and a dissecting scope.
Required Qualifications- Pursuing a B.S. in Biology or Environmental Science
- Experience doing freshwater ecology and identifying macroinvertebrates.
The salary is commensurate with education and experience. This position can work up to 19 hours per week.

Physical RequirementsSuccessful applicants will be expected to work in hot humid weather, rain, and cold weather. Applicants will need to be able to carry 40 pounds up and down steep stream embankments, walk up and down streams, handle insects, and process woody debris by hand.
