Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Shift Operations, Inventory & Quality Control (High Time / High Priority)
- Execute and oversee second‑shift warehouse operations including receiving, put‑away, picking, packing, shipping, and dock activities.
- Manage labor assignments, equipment usage, and workflow to meet shift‑level service, productivity, and throughput targets.
- Ensure accurate inventory transactions through cycle counts, lot control, and timely resolution of discrepancies.
- Enforce proper product handling, documentation, and identification in alignment with GMP/GDP and quality requirements.
- Monitor shift KPIs (productivity, accuracy, service levels) and take immediate corrective action when performance deviates.
- Maintain a clean, organized, audit‑ready work environment with safe, functional equipment and compliant work areas.
- Troubleshoot operational issues in real time and escalate risks that may impact service, safety, or compliance.
- Ensure accurate and complete shift handoff communication to support continuity across shifts.
- Supervise, schedule, train, and coach second‑shift warehouse associates to meet productivity, quality, and safety expectations.
- Maintain strong floor presence to guide daily work, reinforce standards, and support associate problem‑solving.
- Foster a positive, inclusive work environment that promotes teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Conduct performance discussions, administer corrective actions when necessary, and support employee development.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, HR practices, and EEOC requirements.
- Support hiring, onboarding, and cross‑training to maintain a flexible and capable shift workforce.
- Enforce compliance with FDA, DSCSA, GMP/GDP, OSHA, and State Board requirements through consistent execution of SOPs.
- Maintain audit‑ready shift operations with accurate documentation, secure product handling, and adherence to facility protocols.
- Support site leadership during regulatory inspections by ensuring shift records and processes are compliant and complete.
- Uphold safety standards, conduct routine safety checks, and ensure timely reporting and resolution of hazards or incidents.
- Coordinate with maintenance teams to report and address equipment or facility issues impacting shift operations.
- Communicate with Customer Service, Transportation, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to resolve shift‑level service or inventory issues.
- Escalate operational gaps, customer concerns, or workflow bottlenecks to site leadership as needed.
- Execute new processes, system updates, and operational changes introduced by site leadership.
- Provide frontline feedback to help refine SOPs, improve efficiency, and reduce errors.
- Support site leadership during regulatory inspections by ensuring second‑shift records and processes are complete and compliant.
- Manage labor hours, overtime, and equipment utilization to support cost‑effective second‑shift operations.
- Identify opportunities to reduce waste and improve productivity within the shift.
- Proficient in Word, Excel, and Outlook; advanced Excel skills preferred
- Relevant warehouse management systems experience (i.e. Oracle EBS)
- Strong frontline leadership skills, with the ability to motivate, direct, and support associates during active operations
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, including clear shift handoffs and escalation of issues
- Ability to learn quickly, apply standard operating procedures consistently, and adapt to changing priorities
- Solid problem‑solving skills with the judgment to know when to resolve issues independently versus when to escalate
- Positive, hands‑on leadership style that promotes teamwork, accountability, and safe work practices
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- High School Diploma required
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred
- Minimum 5 years of relevant warehouse experience (including 2+ years of previous supervisory experience), or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Must have experience with ERP system, Oracle preferred
- The role is a fully on‑site position based in a warehouse/office setting, requiring frequent data entry and telephone use.
- Must be able to work safely around heavy equipment in a fast‑paced environment.
- Must be able to occasionally move and lift objects of up to 25 pounds
- Typically requires travel less than 5% of the time
