Overview

Warehouse Person position with Dallas Independent School District – Food & Child Nutrition Services.

Schedule:

Day Shift, Full-time.

Location:

Food & Child Nutrition Services. Minimum Salary: 23.79. Job Posting date shown as Sep 24, 2025.

• Perform warehouse functions including filling requisitions, loading and unloading material (food items: dry, cooler, freezer; non-food items: paper, plastic, cleaning supplies, etc.), smallware and equipment as determined by management.
• Receive, store, label, cycle, move, pull, pick, pack, stage, count, load and unload incoming and outgoing items (food and non-food).
• Ensure orders are securely wrapped on pallets and ready for transport.
• Assist in record keeping, shelving, labeling and storing items.
• Store items in designated bins, shelves, containers or storage areas.
• Report stock levels that need replenishment to warehouse supervisors.
• Maintain, inspect and service equipment according to Risk Management procedures.
• Participate in regular and special inventories including counting, sorting and leveling as assigned.
• Assist with the delivery and pick-up of items to/from designated sites/locations.
• Report damaged product to management and assist in facility cleaning where required.
• Complete daily/periodic record keeping and adhere to safety regulations and procedures.
• Receive and/or provide cross-training for various warehouse equipment/functions.
• Lift up to 60 lbs routinely.
• Perform all other duties and tasks as assigned.
• As a federally funded employee, comply with time and effort reporting requirements through personnel activity reports or periodic certification, as appropriate.

• Accredited Senior High School Diploma or valid equivalent (USA equivalency).
• One or more years of directly related experience preferred.
• Must have valid Texas Driver License and acceptable driving record.
• Must pass drug and alcohol testing (pre-employment and random).
• Ability to follow directions in written and verbal form.
• Complete/hold valid Texas Department of Agriculture Food Handlers Certificate within 30 days of employment.
• Experience working in a commercial freezer in temperatures as low as
  -15 degrees Fahrenheit preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to handle paperwork and perform various warehouse functions.
• Demonstrated ability to operate warehouse equipment such as stand up/sit down forklift, pallet jack, electric pallet jack, electric dock plates, etc. Certification within 30 days of employment.
• Demonstrated ability to read, write and perform simple mathematical computations; ability to communicate in English (speak, read and write).
