About The Role
The Shipping Clerk plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient and accurate movement of goods within a manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for coordinating and executing the shipping and receiving processes, maintaining inventory accuracy, and supporting warehouse operations. The Shipping Clerk ensures that all outgoing shipments are properly documented, labeled, and dispatched in a timely manner to meet customer and production demands.
Additionally, this role involves the use of various warehouse equipment and technology to facilitate order picking, packing, and inventory management. Ultimately, the Shipping Clerk contributes to the overall supply chain efficiency and customer satisfaction by maintaining high standards of accuracy and organization.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience with shipping and receiving processes in a warehouse or manufacturing setting.
- Proficiency in operating electric pallet jacks, pallet jacks, and RF scanners.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and inventory management.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects safely and follow safety protocols.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing industry environment.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) or inventory control software.
- Certification in forklift operation or other warehouse equipment.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced team environment.
- Process incoming and outgoing shipments by verifying shipping documents and inspecting goods for accuracy and quality.
- Operate warehouse equipment such as electric pallet jacks and pallet jacks to move materials safely and efficiently.
- Utilize RF scanners and barcode technology to track inventory and update shipping and receiving records in real time.
- Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment according to company standards and customer specifications.
- Maintain a clean and organized shipping and receiving area to ensure safety and operational efficiency.
The required skills such as barcode scanning, RF scanner operation, and the use of electric pallet jacks are essential for accurately tracking and moving inventory throughout the warehouse. Proficiency in shipping and receiving ensures that orders are processed efficiently and shipments are prepared correctly to meet deadlines.
