General Labor, Operations Manager
Job Summary:
The Warehouse Associate will work in our Dallas, TX facility and will be responsible for tasks related to warehouse operations, inventory, yard, and office management. The role involves hands-on work in the warehouse and inventory, as well as interaction with field employees and customers. This position is based at our Dallas, TX warehouse and requires 1-3 years of warehouse experience.
What Will You Do- Load and unload materials and supplies from trucks
- Assist in staging materials (kitting) for projects as requested
- Perform equipment maintenance checks
- Operate a forklift
- Maintain vehicle maintenance records
- Implement ongoing cost-saving and efficiency initiatives
- Utilize equipment and vehicle assets effectively
- Report delays, discrepancies, unsafe conditions, or maintenance issues to management
- Keep the stockroom and yard clean, organized, and safe
- Execute warehouse transactions electronically
- Conduct stock counts and cycle counts for accuracy
- Assist in deliveries and pickups at job sites and customer locations
- Manage shipping and receiving functions
- Ensure accuracy of material and stock records for retrieval and verification
- Follow policies and procedures to ensure quality and cost control
- Transport vehicles needing repair to maintenance sites
- Assist with general office and grounds maintenance, such as scheduling sanding, salting, and plowing
- Perform other duties as required
- 3+ years of experience in material handling within a warehouse; telecommunications experience preferred but not required
- Ability to operate a forklift
- Dependable, self-motivated, with a strong work ethic; team player; punctual with good attendance
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with customers, vendors, and staff
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet use
- Work hours are Monday – Friday, 7:00 am – 5:00 pm, with potential for overtime
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- Frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs from floor to above head
- Ability to sit, stand, climb, kneel, bend, lift, crawl, squat, reach, and use both hands and feet
- Extended sitting, standing, bending, walking, and communication via phone, computer, or face-to-face
- Operate a vehicle for company business
- Work environment includes exposure to heat, cold, dust, wet conditions, vibration, and loud noise
