Our client, a leading international freight forwarder, is seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Air Export Agent to join their International Operations team in Dallas. This on-site role is responsible for managing the full lifecycle of international air export shipments while delivering a high level of service to customers and overseas partners.
The ideal candidate has strong air export operational experience, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and demonstrates excellent organizational and communication skills.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe Air Export Agent will manage the full A–Z air export shipment lifecycle, acting as the primary point of contact for customers and executing all operational tasks, including:
- Coordinate and monitor international air export shipments from booking through final delivery.
- Plan, book, and execute air export shipments, ensuring timely pickup, uplift, and delivery.
- Assemble total landed costs, estimate accurate transit times, and optimize routing solutions.
- Serve as the main customer contact, providing proactive updates, managing expectations, and resolving issues promptly and professionally.
- Prepare, process, and audit all required export documentation within the TMS, including AWBs, HAWBs, MAWBs, invoices, and packing lists.
- Ensure compliance with airline requirements, international trade regulations, and internal SOPs.
- Coordinate with airlines, trucking companies, warehouses, and overseas agents to ensure smooth shipment execution.
- Negotiate rates, manage space allocations, and maintain strong carrier and vendor relationships.
- Complete accurate billing, manage file profitability, and meet internal KPI standards.
- Work closely with internal teams, including accounting and customs brokerage, to ensure efficient file handling and process flow.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in Air Export operations within a freight forwarding environment.
- Strong knowledge of international air export procedures and documentation.
- Cargo Wise experience is required.
- Solid understanding of air freight regulations and compliance requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including overseas correspondence.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- IATA Dangerous Goods certification (initial or recurrent).
- Experience handling DG shipments.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
- Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Proven record of reliability and strong attendance.
- Competitive annual salary of $55,000 – $65,000, based on experience.
- Full-time position requiring 5 days per week on-site at the Dallas office.
