SUMMARY

Bishop Lynch High School seeks a mission-driven professional who will serve as the Head Athletic Performance Coach. Reporting to the Director of Athletics, this experienced professional will be responsible for providing exemplary leadership in the implementation of the goals of Catholic education as outlined in The Holy See’s Teaching on Catholic Schools (Archbishop Michael Miller):

    JOB EXPECTATIONS

  • Responsible for the development of the strength and conditioning program at Bishop Lynch High School to support each of the athletic programs, with an emphasis on weight training, aerobic conditioning, nutrition, hydration, recovery, mobility, health and safety.
  • Design and implement strength training and conditioning programs in-season, off-season, and preseason for all school-sanctioned men’s and women’s athletic programs in a manner that reflects research-driven practices.
  • Work in cooperation with the sports medicine and athletic training staff in the rehabilitation and strengthening of injured athletes.
  • Facilitate a collaborative relationship among sport coaches and sports medicine staff.
  • Design and implement policies and procedures for the strength and conditioning program in accordance with the NSCA Strength and Conditioning Professional Standards and Guidelines.
  • Conduct an annual needs-analysis for each sport team in conjunction with each program head coach and the head athletic trainer at the conclusion of each sport season.
  • Responsible for the management of both weight room facilities. Special attention to safety, equipment maintenance, cleanliness and scheduling are always top priorities.
  • Available to work with athletes and coaches during daily athletic periods. These class periods are considered to be on-duty times for the Head Athletic Performance Coach and he/she should be flexible and available in any of the Bishop Lynch training areas to support teams.
  • Available to work with student-athletes and coaches during after-school practices.
  • Provide support to student-athletes and coaches at Bishop Lynch athletic events.
  • Oversight of all Athletic Performance staff.
  • The Head Athletic Performance Coach will support BL student-athletes and the greater community in the offering of sport performance camps during the summer for both high school and middle school athletes.
  • Exemplify a “can do” spirit with a positive attitude.
  • Collaborate with other personnel at Bishop Lynch to promote the school’s mission and support students.
