Under the supervision of the Sports and Fitness Coordinator, the position is responsible for officiating adult sports league games for enrolled participants.

• Be prompt and professional during all games and program activities.
• Know the rules for the Village Sports League Program and the governing body of the league sanction.
• Work as a team member and communicate effectively with the community.
• Interact with coaches, other sports officials/umpires, and staff.
• Define rulings made during games to coaches and players effectively.
• Conduct and present yourself professionally.
• Help set up and take down sports equipment for the day’s games.
• Enforce program rules and policies by maintaining surveillance of participants.
• Report equipment problems.
• Ensure the safety of members/participants.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Immediately report unusual incidents or accidents to the Sports Coordinator and fill out necessary reports.

• Previous playing or officiating experience.
• Excellent verbal and communication skills.
• CPR and First Aid/AED training to be obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to stand for long periods.
• Ability to lift equipment and sports materials up to 50 lbs.

• Soccer refereeing or playing experience.
• Softball/Baseball refereeing or playing experience.
