Python Backend Developer

The Opportunity:

Strategio is seeking a highly skilled Python Backend Developer to join a dynamic Technology Delivery Team supporting large-scale enterprise innovation initiatives.

This is a hands‑on development role focused on designing, building, and optimizing scalable backend systems using advanced Python engineering practices. The ideal candidate combines strong software development expertise with experience integrating AI/ML capabilities into production applications.

You will contribute across the full development lifecycle: from backend architecture and API design to system integration, scalability, and performance optimization.

You’re a hands‑on builder who gets genuinely energized by solving hard problems at a high level.

You have advanced Python backend development skills and experience building production‑grade applications. You can design, build, debug, and ship independently. You understand what your code is doing, and you don’t rely on AI coding tools to carry the development for you.

• Design and develop scalable backend applications using advanced Python
• Build and maintain backend services and REST APIs
• Integrate AI/ML capabilities into backend systems where required
• Implement retrieval workflows (RAG) and AI‑powered features within applications
• Develop data pipelines and integrate vector databases when applicable
• Connect backend services to enterprise data sources and third‑party APIs
• Optimize application performance and improve system reliability
• Collaborate in Agile teams to translate business needs into scalable software solutions
• Debug and enhance existing backend systems with strong engineering discipline

• Proven software development experience building backend systems
• Experience integrating AI/ML capabilities into applications
• Production experience working with APIs and scalable systems
• Experience deploying applications to AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Strong analytical thinking and problem‑solving ability
• Experience with RAG or retrieval‑based AI systems

• Experience with vector databases (Pinecone, FAISS, Chroma, etc.)
• Exposure to agent frameworks or orchestration patterns
• Familiarity with knowledge graphs or ontology‑based retrieval
• Experience mentoring or guiding junior engineers
