Senior PHP SysOps Developer

We are seeking a PHP Sys Ops Engineer/Developer to support the development, scalability, and reliability of a high-performance platform in the Clinical Trials and Medical Meetings space. This role blends PHP application development with infrastructure, Dev Ops, and system reliability engineering.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain web applications using PHP, Symfony, and modern backend technologies.
• Build new features, maintain existing functionality, and improve system performance.
• Identify and implement modifications in existing services.
• Collaborate with developers to ensure smooth interaction across system components.
• Manage backend services and ensure efficient data interchange.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application and infrastructure issues.
• Deploy and refine software tools, processes, and metrics.
• Maintain and upgrade existing systems to ensure reliability and performance.
• Set up and maintain Kubernetes clusters for containerized deployments and scaling.
• Implement load balancing, auto-scaling, and reliability best practices.
• Administer Redis for caching and storage, ensuring performance and data integrity.
• Configure and secure Linux-based servers.
• Maintain infrastructure security including access control, encryption, and vulnerability assessments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science/IT or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of PHP experience (currently using PHP 8.x).
• Strong proficiency with:
• PHP, Symfony, Twig
• Redis, Mongo
  
  DB (sharding preferred)
• Git, PHPUnit
• Solid OOP principles and experience with Agile, TDD, and Scrum.
• Experience with container orchestration, autoscaling, and distributed systems.
• Understanding of networking concepts (IP addressing, routing, firewalls).
• Preferred:

• Plus:
  Familiarity with HIPAA and EU data privacy guidelines.
