Job Summary :
We are seeking a Senior Full Stack Developer with more than 10 years of deep experience in software development, architecture, and full-stack solution delivery to join our Life Insurance technology team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Java technologies including Spring Boot , Spring Batch , and React / JavaScript on the front end, with additional exposure to Python , Lambda and Generative AI (GenAI) .
This role also requires solid experience in AWS cloud environments , CI / CD pipelines, code quality practices using Sonar Qube , and automation using Power Shell and scripting. You’ll play a key role in building scalable, secure, and cloud-native solutions that enable digital transformation across the Life Insurance LOB.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, and maintain full-stack applications using Java (Spring Boot, Spring Batch) and modern JavaScript frameworks, Angular .
- Lead and implement solutions using a wide spectrum of Java / Python technologies and development frameworks.
- Create reusable libraries, frameworks, and templates to drive standardization and code reusability.
- Collaborate with front-end and back-end teams to build scalable, secure, and responsive web applications.
- Extensive expertise in leading innovation activities by leveraging OOB tech stacks / resources from AWS
- Apply Python and GenAI where applicable to drive automation and intelligent feature sets.
- Build and maintain CI / CD pipelines for seamless deployment and automated testing.
- Ensure code quality and maintainability using tools like Sonar Qube and static code analysis practices.
- Develop and manage automation scripts using Power Shell and other scripting tools for deployment and environment management.
- Deploy and operate solutions on AWS cloud infrastructure including EC2, Lambda, RDS, S3, ECS, etc.
- Participate in solution architecture, peer reviews, and technical strategy discussions.
- Mentor junior developers and foster a collaborative engineering culture focused on continuous improvement and innovation.
Skills & Qualifications
- 10+ years of hands-on experience in full-stack software development and system architecture.
- Strong backend skills in Java, Spring Boot, Spring Batch , and associated Java technologies.
- Front-end development experience using JavaScript , React , Angular, HTML, and CSS.
- Experience with AWS Cloud services , including infrastructure design, provisioning, and optimization.
- Solid understanding of CI / CD processes and tools such as Jenkins, Git Lab, Git Hub Actions, or AWS Code Pipeline.
- Experience with Sonar Qube for enforcing code quality standards.
- Proficient in scripting with Power Shell and automation for cloud and on-prem environments.
- Expertise on Python and familiarity with GenAI platforms such as OpenAI, Amazon Bedrock.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- AWS Certification (Developer or Solutions Architect) is a plus.
- Experience in Life Insurance or broader insurance domain.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and working in cross-functional teams.
- Experience with containerization tools like Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes.
The location is hybrid : the selected candidate will be required to complete six weeks of training in office. post training the employee will transition to a hybrid work schedule which will require weekly reporting to our Downers Grove locations. Compensation for this role is $114,300 - $152,300.
