**** Overview
* * The Senior Project Specialist – DPD Focused Deterrence responsible for managing the application and tracking of all social service resources provided to eligible chronic violent offenders. Duties include intake assessment of an offender’s emergency and future needs, creation of tailored and written care plans that articulate goals, activities, and behavioral requirements, the coordination and documentation of social service resources, evaluation of an offender’s progress through the program, maintaining a harmonious working relationship with law enforcement, community partners, and organizations, and assisting the Department in the tracking of recidivism rates of offenders’ participating in Focused Deterrence.
** Essential Functions
** 1 Manages, coordinates, and facilitates projects for the Focused Deterrence program.
2 Creates, maintains, and updates care plans, activities, and behavioral requirements; provides intake assessments of offender’s emergency and future needs.
3 Evaluates, plans, coordinates, and manages projects using effective methodologies; coordinates project activities with internal departmental units, end user departments, and external or private sector vendors and contractors.
4 Develops uniquely tailored care plans based on available resources to fulfil the social and economic needs of chronic violent offenders to prevent recidivism.
5 Interviews all applicants to assess a participant’s eligibility, and their immediate and future situational needs; determine which services and levels of assistance are uniquely necessary for each participant.
6 Travels to meet with chronic offenders at governmental facilities or other locations deemed safe and appropriate to conduct assessment or follow-up.7 Regularly interact with different project stakeholders: governmental agencies and entities, service providers, researchers, police, community stakeholder, non-profit organizations, and at-risk populations to evaluate the effectiveness of care plans.
8 Analyzes data from health care providers, social workers, and other resources for care plan formulation.
9 Obtains necessary resources and coordinate the services offered by governmental agencies, community partners, and non-profit organizations to fulfil all care plans.
10 Communicates goals and program requirements with the participant and address any concerns as they arise.
11 Communicates care plan status to participants, community partners, organizations, and the Department.
12 Performs complex management and oversight to maintain effectiveness in daily operations related case management and be organized to manage many differing and unique cases  Maintains and manages digital or hard copy case records in a confidential manner.
14 Serves as a liaison between the Department, participant, community partners, government agencies, and all other entities partnered with Focused Deterrence.
15 Develops detailed presentations, policy briefs, and operational summaries.
16 Develops and maintain weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly progress reports.
17 Performs any and all other work as needed or assigned.
** Knowledge and Skills
** 1 Knowledge of project management techniques and methodologies.
2 Knowledge of project scope, project budgeting, project implementation, and vendor coordination.
3 Knowledge in federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
4 Knowledge in currently available federal, state, and local social service programs and non-profit organizations.
5 Knowledge in social work techniques, dealing with offenders previously incarcerated in a state or federal penitentiary.
6 Proficient in Google Drive, MS One Drive, MS Teams, MS Office, etc.
7 Exceptional organizational and administrative skills, with a strong attention to detail.
8 Skill in research and data analysis.
9 Skill in negotiation practices.
10 Skill in problem solving.
11 Ability to think creatively.
