What You’ll Do

As a Lead Installation Technician, you will:

Structured Cabling & Pathways
  • Install, terminate, and test Cat6, fiber, coax, and low‑voltage cabling
  • Build out cable pathways (conduit, J‑hooks, racks, trays) to avoid obstructions
  • Understand and apply NEC codes for low‑voltage installations
Security & Fire Systems
  • Install and mount security cameras, access panels, fire alarm devices, access points, and related hardware
  • Build and dress server racks, network equipment racks, and structured telecom systems
Blueprints & Leadership
  • Read and interpret blueprints, plans, and schematics
  • Lead a small team of 1–3 technicians on job sites
  • Work independently without direct manager oversight
  • Ensure each project meets quality and safety standards
Must-Have Skills
  • 3+ years of experience in structured cabling, conduit work, or security system installation
  • Strong hands‑on knowledge of Cat6, low‑voltage, and telecom infrastructure
  • Ability to travel 100% of the time (M–Th or M–F depending on project)
  • Ability to read blueprints and troubleshoot onsite
  • Experience leading helpers or small installation teams
  • Must provide personal hand tools: snips, scissors, punch tool, cordless drill, etc.
Bonus Skills (Nice to Have)
  • Experience with video/security systems
  • Experience working in prisons, government, or high‑security environments
  • Comfort operating lifts, ladders, and heavy tools

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dallas, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
