Fiber Technician

We are seeking a skilled Fiber Technician to install, test, troubleshoot, and maintain fiber optic cabling systems. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with multiple fiber types, industry-standard testing equipment, and structured cabling environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Dress, prep, and splicesinglemode, multimode, stranded, and ribbon fiber
• Work with MPO and pre-terminated fiber systems
• Perform fiber testing and certification using Fluke and/or Viavi testers
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve fiber-related issues across all supported fiber types
• Ensure installations meet industry standards, specifications, and safety requirements
• Maintain clean, organized fiber pathways, panels, and enclosures
• Accurately document test results, splicing records, and work performed

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Proven experience with fiber splicing (fusion and/or mechanical)
• Strong understanding of fiber optic standards and best practices
• Ability to interpret fiber test results and identify faults

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with structured cabling standards (TIA/EIA, BICSI, etc.)
• Relevant certifications (ETA, BICSI, manufacturer-specific) are a plus
• May involve working in data centers, commercial buildings, and construction sites
• Ability to work in tight spaces, on ladders, and lift equipment as needed
