Solar Foreman

Compensation- Piece Rate Pay: $45 per kW installed
We are seeking a dynamic Solar Foreman to continuously model to others our standards and responsibilities, including policy compliance, quality standards, and efficiency goals. The ideal candidate will work cooperatively with team members to successfully complete the installation and maintenance of energy products safely and on time.
Job Responsibilities- Install and provide electrical expertise on a solar installation crew while completing quality installations based on design specifications.
- Organize, lead, and train crew members to complete projects within established guidelines and time frames.
- Read and understand blueprints, CAD drawings, etc.
- Effectively manage all aspects of the construction workflow.
- Install conduit and wiring in compliance with NEC and local codes in a professional manner.
- Demonstrate knowledge of OSHA standards related to photovoltaic installations and enforce safety practices and standards.
- Analyze and resolve worker problems and recommend solutions.
- Install and commission energy systems on roofs, including array layout, and mounting hardware based on site conditions and customers’ needs and expectations.
- Work with operations leadership on continuous improvement and development of processes and people.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or equivalent, or Technical/trade school training in solar or electrical systems is preferred.
- 2+ years residential solar experience.
- Must be a licensed journeyman.
Skills
- Ability to safely handle power tools and materials such as: ladders, inverters, solar panels, panel boards, batteries, and other similar electrical equipment, lumber, roofing materials, etc.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to install residential solar PV system from start to finish, including all phases of the installation.
- Solar installation and electrical experience, strong organizational and communication skills, high work ethic.
- Knowledge of the NEC and applicable codes and standards.
- Understanding of battery backup systems (Enphase).
- Experience with electrical panels including subpanels (MBD derate, conduit bending, relocating circuits, etc.).
- Adherence to company safety policies and procedures; ability to identify and report safety hazards and encourage safe work.
- Ability to troubleshoot an inverter that is reporting production loss.
- Work in extreme environments (hot, humid, rain, etc.).
- Use equipment such as ladders, fall protection harnesses, and other personal protective equipment safely.
- Pass pre‑employment screening and maintain a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Withstand heights, be on roofs, climb ladders daily.
- Lift 50–75+ lbs. routinely daily.
- Work in 0–100+ degree weather, wet, dry, humid conditions.
- Move around for prolonged periods: standing, kneeling, bending, squatting, climbing ladders daily.
- Availability for 8–10 hour shift.
