We are seeking an experienced Transportation Mechanic to join our Dallas team. In this hands‑on role, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing transportation equipment to ensure safe, reliable operation. The ideal candidate has strong experience with wiring, hydraulics, trailer systems, and preventative maintenance, and thrives in a fast‑paced shop environment handling both scheduled maintenance and quick‑turn repairs.

What You’ll DoPerform wiring and electrical diagnostics, including trailer lights and related quick‑turn repairs
Maintain, diagnose, and repair hydraulic systems
Conduct general mechanical repairs on transportation equipment
Perform preventative maintenance to keep equipment in optimal working condition
Inspect, test, dismantle, and reassemble machinery and equipment
Diagnose equipment malfunctions and respond to breakdowns promptly
Install new or repaired parts, systems, and components
Install new machinery and equipment as required
Perform air brake line work in compliance with certification standards
Fuel and lubricate equipment
Operate tools and equipment necessary to complete repairs
Ensure all work meets safety, compliance, and regulatory requirements
Maintain responsibility for company tools and assigned equipment
Communicate equipment conditions, repair status, and supply needs to supervision
Maintain a clean and safe work area
Follow all safety procedures including PPE, lockout/tagout, and confined space requirements
Perform other duties as assigned
What We’re Looking ForMinimum 2 years of mechanic experience
, preferably in a transportation or fleet shop
Air brake line certification (required)
Strong hands‑on experience with wiring, electrical systems, and trailer lighting
Solid knowledge of hydraulic systems, diagnostics, and repairs
Knowledge of diesel engines and preventative maintenance practices
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Demonstrated leadership capability
Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Physical & Work Environment RequirementsAbility to work overhead, climb ladders, kneel, and stand for extended periods
Ability to lift and carry light weights
Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow)
Ability to handle stressful situations, multitask, and manage time effectively
Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends as needed
