Journeyman Electrician - Prism Electric, Inc. Prism Electric, Inc. is one of the most successful open-shop electrical contracting companies in Texas and Oklahoma. The Journeyman Electrician will be responsible for learning and applying electrical code requirements through the NEC, assembling, installing, maintaining, and testing electrical equipment in commercial and industrial settings, and maintaining a safe work environment on construction projects as part of the Prism Electric team.

• Responsible for assembly, installation, maintenance and testing of electrical equipment and wiring systems in commercial settings.
• Prepare work areas for installation of equipment.
• Install or assist in installing electrical components.
• Connect wiring and equipment per code and job specifications.
• Operate equipment only if trained and certified; note: powder-activated tools and JLG lifts may require certification and training.
• Set up and operate tools such as hydraulic benders, power threaders, power pullers and cable vacuum systems.
• Read blueprints and electrical drawings and install as specified.
• Verify dimensions, alignments and clearances per drawings or plans.
• Secure and lock up equipment after use.
• Journeyman Trade Certification in a related construction trade is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated safe project delivery on schedule and within budget.
• Excellent working knowledge of Building Codes.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• 4+ years of experience as a commercial electrician (Journeyman)
• Texas State Electrical License (Journeyman Card)
• Valid State Driver's License
• Reliable transportation
• Good attendance and punctuality
• Self-motivated and able to work from descriptions and blueprints
• Experience and proficiency running electrical conduit with precision
• Layout capabilities
• Positive attitude and ability to work with other craftsmen
• Hard-working with drive to complete tasks
• Dependable and willing to complete projects from start to finish

Physical requirements:

The job involves working in all elements, depending on location and season. Wear PPE (hard hat, safety glasses). Respirator when required.

Schedule:

8–10 hours per day, 40 hours per week, overtime and night shifts as needed. Physical work is primary (more than 70%), including crawling, standing, stooping, bending, crouching, kneeling, and lifting objects over 50 pounds; repetitive use of arms, hands and fingers.
