Description

Job Overview:

As a member of the property maintenance team, this position will be responsible for all plumbing issues, service requests, and proactive maintenance of the building's plumbing system. Makes recommendations, performs repairs, and replacement maintenance, and implements preventive maintenance as established by Company procedures and guidelines. This position must be licensed.

Your Responsibilities:

* Read and interpret plans, blueprints, and sketches; construct, layout, or plan piping assemblies with respect to walls, structures, and other obstructions

* Assembling, installing, altering, and repairing pipelines or pipe systems that carry water, steam, air, or other liquids or gases.

* Cuts and levels pipe utilizing a cutting torch or cutting machines.

* Construct various types of pipe joints for high or low-pressure systems, including threading, brazing, soldering, welding

* Cut, fit, fabricate, and assemble a wide variety of articles including but not limited to; cast iron pipe and fittings, PVC/CPVC pipes and fittings, Carbon Steel (Grooved, Threaded & Welded), copper tubing and copper sweating and brazing processes

* Able to open walls and replace cast iron stacks, including vents and waste piping.

* Ensure accurate records on material and labor used

* Exercise initiative or, as directed, perform additional duties to meet the needs of the organization

* Must be prompt, on time to work, and have good, regular attendance.

* May be required to work overtime, as required.

* Facilitates company safety procedures and ensures that policies are carried out.

* Follows safety procedures and maintains a safe work environment.

* Performs other job-related duties as directed and miscellaneous projects as assigned.

Skills
- Qualifications:

* Must be able to read and understand construction documents and schedules.

* Able to manage portions of projects and will be the "right hand" to the foreman or supervisor.

* Capable of forecasting tasks and materials

* Understand the importance of the safety of self and others on the projects.

* Knowledge of all codes and regulations specific to the project

* Extensive knowledge of plumbing codes, equipment, and installation practices

* Highly organized and detail-oriented with exceptional follow-through abilities

* Ability to read blueprints.

* Must have a clean driving record.

* Able to communicate clearly and effectively with vendors, associates, and residents.

* Managing the ordering of materials to make sure projects stay on track and within budget.

* Document various items throughout the job, including, but not limited to, change orders, delays, and damages.

* Prepare paperwork including but not limited to weekly reports,

* Demonstrating a team attitude and the ability wot work well with

Education/Training:
High school diploma or equivalency preferred. Licensed Master or Journeyman Plumber Advanced knowledge of plumbing.

Experience/Knowledge/Abilities: 3+ years of multifamily plumbing/piping experience or combination of field and education in the trade. Must possess strong maintenance plumbing background; 3+ years of related work experience. Experience using hand and electrical tools. Strong working knowledge of customer service principles and practices. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Self-starter with good verbal and written communication skills. Strong time management skills and the ability to multi-task is required.

The ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, drawings, and regulations or documents with a similar degree of complexity is required.

Compensation: $35 - $40 / hour
