Med Tech Field Service Technician – On‑Call – National Travel
Join IQVIA as a traveling on‑call Field Service Technician supporting automated medication dispensing systems across hospitals, pharmacies, and other clinical settings. This role requires national travel with 1‑3 week deployments and local/regional coverage within 1‑3 hours of home.
Responsibilities- Diagnose and repair field‑service equipment and document all service activities.
- Replace hardware parts, perform software updates and calibrations.
- Conduct bi‑annual or yearly preventive maintenance as required by customers.
- Assist in the installation and implementation of new devices at customer locations.
- Verify system checks and record data from product tests after installation and configuration.
- Maintain and restock parts and tools assigned by the customer.
- Respond to service tickets within the service level agreement (4‑24 hours).
- Available on‑call nights and weekends. Travel nationally for 1‑3 week periods or local support when travel is not required.
- Intermediate troubleshooting in electronics, mechanics, and electromechanical systems.
- Military technician, computer technician, or complex electronics technician experience preferred; automation equipment experience in healthcare a plus.
- A+ certification preferred.
- Strong communication skills and exceptional customer support.
- Active driver’s license and personal vehicle (travel time reimbursement).
- Physical ability to lift up to 70 lbs and perform pushing, pulling, stooping, bending.
- Must complete hospital vendor credentialing and vaccination requirements.
- Located within 30 minutes of a major airport.
This position is not eligible for medical benefits.
Vaccine/Immunization/Hospital Credentialing RequirementRequired immunizations: MMR, Varicella, TB test, Tdap, HepB, Influenza, COVID‑19 primary series. Vaccine schedule may vary by facility; all requirements are enforced.
