Title:
Maintenance Technician

Duration: 3 months
Safely performs a wide variety of maintenance and repair work on facilities, systems, structures, and equipment, including:
- Repair/replacement of screens, glass, doors, hardware, shades, blinds, light fixtures, handrails, ceilings, walls, floors, baseboards, molding, playground, and recreational equipment.
- Some work will be performed under supervision, but other work will be performed independently based on the skills of the incumbent.
Responsibilities include:
Assembling, installing, and repairing plumbing fixtures and equipment, including sinks, lavatories, commodes, bathtubs, showers, faucets, water supply and drain lines, traps, and clean outs. Unstopping drains.Replacing furnace/AC filters, checking and cleaning air vents and thermostats, and installing window and central air conditioning units.Replacing electrical switches, circuits, breaker boxes, outlets, light fixtures, and electrical appliances under supervision of the Master Electrician.Performing skilled maintenance and repairs on facilities and equipment. Assisting in preparing vacant units for occupancy by cleaning and necessary repairs.Preparing and painting housing units using appropriate equipment.Patching and repairing walls and roofs; replacing and repairing glass, windows, screens, countertops, tiles, toilets, and sinks.Repairing or replacing door locks; installing and repairing vanities, handrails, countertops, cabinets, doors, windows, screens, smoke detectors, flooring, roofing, etc.Assembling, installing, and repairing pipe systems, plumbing, machinery, and equipment.Diagnosing mechanical problems and determining corrective actions, consulting repair manuals and parts catalogs as needed.Repairing or replacing defective parts using hand and power tools, then reassembling equipment.Maintaining parts, supplies, and equipment; advising supervisor when supplies need ordering.Why Choose Cogent?
