- Provide prevention and detection of criminal activity and safety hazards
- Enforce traffic, parking, student code of conduct, and other district regulations
- Provide overall assistance to the school campus community
- Assist in restraining, apprehending, and escorting disruptive or arrested individuals
- Patrol all exterior and interior areas of the campus, while ensuring direct interaction with students and district personnel within the assigned jurisdiction
- Write factual, clear, legible, and concise reports of unusual activities and criminal incidents occurring on or near the campus
- Resolve conflict or confrontation between students, district personnel, visitors, or other persons on the assigned campus
- Report all incidents or criminal activity immediately to the supervisor
- Adhere to policies and procedures of the Board of Trustees, the district, and the Police and Security department.
- Adhere to existing district and department grooming standards and dress policies at all times for uniformed personnel
- Attend all scheduled meetings as required by the supervisor
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Required High School Diploma or GED
- Required valid Texas driver's license
- Willing to undergo a criminal background check and drug screening
- Ability to perform responsibilities with minimum supervision
- Knowledge of relevant security equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective school security operations for the protection of people, data and property
- Competency to deal sensitively and fairly with people from diverse cultural backgrounds
- Ability to effectively interface with students, parents, and all levels of District personnel in writing and verbally
- Able to maintain the confidentiality of information
- Organizational, prioritization, communication, and interpersonal skills required to achieve the goals of the position
- Must be computer literate and willing to attend training sessions
- Bilingual (English and Spanish) is a preferred
