About

The Role

The Sales Manager is responsible for leading and developing a high-performing sales team within a specific geographic territory focused on driving revenue growth through in-home consultations and outdoor service solutions. This role combines leadership, strategic planning, executing strategies to meet revenue targets and hands‑on sales activity to achieve company goals in customer acquisition, market expansion, and profitability.

What You’ll Do
  • Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation to closing for high-leverage accounts
  • Lead, manage, and coach a team of outside sales representatives to achieve and exceed sales and margin goals.
  • Recruit, train, and develop sales team members to ensure high levels of product knowledge, professionalism, and closing effectiveness.
  • Participate in field activities, including joint sales calls and ride‑alongs, to provide real‑time coaching and ensure consistent sales process execution.
  • Analyze performance data to identify trends, set sales strategies, and develop targeted improvement plans.
  • Collaborate with marketing to optimize lead generation, territory management, and conversion rates.
  • Monitor sales pipeline activity, follow‑up practices, and CRM data accuracy to maintain accountability and forecasting accuracy.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and ensure a superior customer experience throughout the sales process.
  • Coordinate with operations and installation teams to ensure smooth project handoffs and customer satisfaction.
  • Implement incentive programs, contests, and recognition strategies to drive motivation and results.
  • Stay current with industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities to adjust strategy as needed.
What We Are Looking For

To effectively perform the duties for this position, individuals must be able to demonstrate competencies that are essential to the position, which include:

  • Experience in a “one call close” model is a must
  • Ability to travel as required, ~10‑25%
  • Proven success in outside sales management, preferably within the home improvement, construction, or outdoor services industry.
  • Strong leadership and coaching abilities with experience managing field‑based teams.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Results‑driven mindset with strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems and data‑driven performance management.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle; willingness to travel within assigned market area.
Physical Requirements /Work Environment
  • Ability to walk job sites, measure pools, and climb in/out of pool shells or backyards
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Stand and drive for long periods
  • Occasionally lift presentation materials or samples (up to 30 lbs)
