What You'll Need to Succeed as a Sales Intern at XPO

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present clear, organized, and well-thought-out solutions to customer needs
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-up skills, with the ability to identify and resolve customer issues
  • Proven organizational and multitasking abilities, with the capacity to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Energetic, results-driven work style with a strong desire to succeed
  • Self-motivated and adaptable, able to work independently or collaboratively in a team environment while consulting with team members and leadership as needed

About the Sales Intern Role

What You'll Do on a Typical Day:

  • Gain hands-on exposure to various functions within the transportation and logistics industry by actively seeking opportunities to learn new skills and expand industry knowledge
  • Conduct cold calls to prospective clients to understand their Less-Than-Truckload (LTL) shipping spend and identify customer needs in order to present tailored solutions
  • Develop an understanding of different sales scenarios, daily seller responsibilities, and strategies for maximizing KPIs to drive business growth
  • Participate in projects related to logistics, transportation, customer retention, and the recovery of churning customers
  • Identify opportunities to improve existing processes and support operational efficiencies
  • Build practical selling experience through the XPO 4D Sales Methodology
